Overview

A recent mixed bedding introduction bred for greater disease resistance bedding. Robust and easy to grow, 'Beacon Mixed' is a recently introduced variety bred with disease resistance in mind. More resilient to downy mildew, this mixed selection containing white, red and pink blooms is perfect for hanging baskets and containers and has an extended period of interest, flowering from late spring to the early frosts. Grown individually in cell trays, each plant measures about 4 - 6cm tall (from the base of the root to the top of the plant). They are ideal for keen gardeners who have a greenhouse where the plants can be grown on until they are ready for planting out in the garden once all chance of frost has passed. Please note: We grow these especially for you, so we do request that full payment is made when you place your order. See above for despatch dates. To ensure that your plants arrive in the best possible condition each pack will be despatched individually. Please also be aware that the pot in the photograph is not included.

Pot up and grow on under glass until all risk of frost has passed and they can be planted outside in a well-prepared bed. Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier growth, and feed regularly with a high-potash fertiliser to promote flowering.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Small plugs are arranged in a plastic tray in a cardboard box. Foam is used to secure the plugs from the bottom and the top.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
