Keeps herbs within easy reach. A great gift for anyone who likes to cook and like to keep fresh herbs close to hand. The set contains three 10cm terracotta pots & saucers, sufficient compost to fill them, and packets of basil, chive and parsley seed. There is also easy to follow growing instructions. Growing Instructions: Making the compost: Place the peat-free compost pallets in a suitable mixing container and add 600ml of lukewarm water. Allow to stand and expand for 30-60 minutes, drain off any excess water and mix compost well. You may have more compost than you require and more water could be required if the compost mix is looking dry. How to plant:Fill 80% of each pot with compost and moisten. Scatter a sparse layer of seeds (one variety per pot), cover with a very thin layer of compost and moisten. Save any surplus seeds and any extra compost so you can re-seed the pots in the future. Move to a warm, well-lit area; a windowsill is ideal but full sunshine will dry out the compost rapidly. The compost must be kept moist at all times, never being allowed to dry out. After a few weeks, harvest with scissors as required, Re-seed when appropriate by removing the old plants and top layer of compost and following the instructions above. After purchase store in a cool, dry place. Each gift set includes 3 x terracotta pots,3 x terracotta saucers , a peat free compost pellets, Basil, Chives and Parsley seeds and full instructions.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
