Overview

Bicoloured, deep pink and white perennial flowering from mid to late summer. Appearing on airy (and increasingly lengthy) spikes throughout the summer, the flowers of this sun-loving sage are typically bicoloured - but occasionally solid white or red flowers can appear, often as a result of a change in temperature. A cottage garden classic, it will usually flower for months on end!

Care guide

To prolong flowering remove the flower spikes as soon they start to fade. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant in spring. Protect from excessive cold and waterlogged soils.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
