Overview

A low growing ornamental grass with bright yellow foliage. An eye-catching small ornamental grass, which forms cascading hummocks of vividly striped bright yellow and green foliage. The narrow leaves keep their colour throughout the season, and often when the plant is grown in full sun it develops a reddish tinge. In late summer and autumn, pale green, slender, flower spikelets appear, giving a billowing lightness to planted drifts. It is useful as a simple understorey to light shrubs and as a soft edging to paths or steps. The clean, minimalist style of this grass makes it a good choice for formal courtyards or in minimalist urban planters.

Care guide

Incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost into the planting hole. Leave flower heads to dry out through the winter, adding valuable texture to plantings. Apply a light mulch (3cm) of well-rotted garden compost after cutting back old foliage and before new growth emerges in spring.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
