Overview

An aquatic marginal bog garden perennial reed grass with variegated foliage. Quickly spreading by underground rhizomes to form a generous clump of slender variegated foliage, which often emerges in spring with a pink flush. Then, in midsummer, tall stems appear, and these are topped with open clusters of purple-flushed green spikelets. It's a great option for bog gardens or softening the edges of larger ponds where you want some quick cover.

Care guide

To prevent this plant spreading too vigorously, it is advisable to pot it up (using aquatic compost) into a pond basket. Then, lift and divide the plant as necessary. In late winter, pop on a pair of tough gloves, and comb through the plant in late winter to remove any dead foliage.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
