Overview

An early flowering, silver-pink form. Dusty pink flowers are surrounded by broad, silvery white bracts, which have attractive green veining and tips. This astrantia often comes into bloom earlier than many of the other cultivars, but as the flowers are sterile it will never become a nuisance. The flower heads make delightful additions to fresh cut arrangements and last well when dried.

Care guide

Incorporate plenty of organic matter when planting and water well in dry weather, especially newly established plants. Lift and divide large clumps in early spring and apply a generous 5-7cm mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost around the plant. Divided specimens may take some time to establish since they don't like having their roots disturbed.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
