How to clean your garden furniture

Maintaining your outdoor furniture is vital to keeping it looking as good as new. Once you have removed any materials and cushioning that can either be machine or hand washed, make sure you get rid of any dust that's built up and vacuum your garden furniture and all around.

A bucket of warm water and washing up liquid is enough to remove any grime and dirt. You can use a cloth for the larger areas and a toothbrush for any stubborn nooks and crannies.

Rinse with a hose or a fresh bucket of water. Don't be tempted to reach for a pressure washer as these can be too harsh for cleaning garden furniture and potentially cause some damage.

To remove algae, add two parts of white vinegar to one part water and three tablespoons of baking soda. Scrub with a toothbrush and leave for a few minutes before giving another scrub and washing away.

How do I maintain garden furniture?

How do I choose the right size garden furniture?

Add about 50cm to the width and length (don't do this if the seats are attached to the table - the dimensions would then include the seating space), and add the size of the seats if included. Times these two values together (width x length) to find out how much space your chosen furniture will take up, and compare this to the measurement you took at the start. Second measurement smaller than the first? You're good to go!
