Overview

Feathery plumes of pink flowers. Delicate, feathery, vivid pink plumes appear in midsummer above serrated, bronze-tinted, mid-green leaves. This astilbe is one of the taller varieties. It's ideal for a moist bog garden or moist border, and the foliage contrasts particularly well with plants like rodgersia which have bolder, coarse-textured leaves. Although it can grow in drier soils it does need to be in a shady spot.

Care guide

Newly planted astilbes need to be kept well watered until they are established. Lift and divide large clumps every three or four years in late winter or early spring discarding old, woody rhizomes. Mulch with well-rotted organic matter in spring.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
